Breaking through the barriers to a new future for falconry! FAQs |
Definition - We define falconry as a hunting partnership between human(s) and trained raptor(s) held for that purpose. |
History - This advocacy organization was formed in 2006 to represent the legistlative views and address the related needs of ALL U.S. falconers & raptor propagators. |
Membership - While the Falconry Alliance appreciates the assistance and donations of U.S. falconers as well as those of our friends abroad, we are not a membership organization, as the politics of such an organization hamper it from acting swiftly when necessary. There is an advisory board which makes crucial decisions, allowing us to act wisely as well as swiftly and forcefully. |
FA &. NAFA - The Falconry Alliance is NOT a club. It's an organization, specifically established to enact timely changes to the legislation and regulation affecting falconers. By narrowing the scope of our organization to such matters, remaining undistracted by meets, etc., we'll be in the very best possible position to enact signficant positive change. The Falconry Alliance is not opposed to NAFA. NAFA remains a worthwhile club which has done much good for the falconry community. Both are valuable, each serving different needs. |

No Longer Affiliated with the Sportsmen's Alliance! The Falconry Alliance finds that responsible stewardship of wildlife is essential, and is unwilling to compromise this principle in order to preserve unsupportable hunters' rights. Just as we gave up our own peregrines when they were in trouble for the sake of the species, we feel it is of sublime importance that the hunting of predators, including gray wolves and polar bears, be suspended while there is increasing evidence that their populations may be in distress. Sportsmen's Alliance is unwaivering in pursuing the "right" to hunt them despite this mounting evidence. We regret that we cannot in good conscience maintain affiliation with that organisation.
